Mindfulness-based leadership development manual

The Institute for Mindfulness is developing a leadership program based on Professor Mark Williams’ and Danny Penman’s bestseller “Mindfulness. A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World”. Mark Williams, University of Oxford, is one of the co-developers of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), an intervention, which has become recommended as treatment for depression by the UK’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. As many of the mechanisms underlying MBCT have shown to be effective in reducing stress and enhancing well-being, MBCT has been adapted for the non-clinical population and is now being taught successfully at schools (“.b” programme), and in diverse organizations in the UK (“Frantic World” programme), including the British Parliament.

The Institute for Mindfulness is developing a manual that tailors the powerful practices and teachings of MBCT and the “Frantic World” to the specific needs of leaders, teams and organizations.

The authors, Katrin Micklitz and Barbara Pamment, are trained MBCT-teachers and each hold an MSt degree in MBCT from the University of Oxford.
